February Flowers 21 & 22: Kiki (Kiki’s Delivery Service) and Nausicaa (Nausicaa Valley of the Wind)
Two of my favorite Studio Ghibli ladies! I love the color palette in Kiki’s Delivery Service and I tried to incorporate some of that bright warmth into the painting 🙂 Geraniums running wild in the background because I wanted the little pop of red.
I wanted Nausicaa to interact with her flower a bit more, since she’s got that strong botanical streak, so I gave her a rain of dandelion fluff to examine. I’m most pleased with her expression here 🙂
