I almost never mess with Utena fanart because the kind of art I draw and the kind of art I want to see for this series aren’t usually the same thing.
Enter “Draw Everything June” day 9 with a pose of supplication that could be both tender and twisted, and then my wife gently whispered “Utena though?” and my brain was off to the races with inspiration.
The tangle between sweet and sinister that is a knighting or possibly a sacrifice is exactly what I wanted and I’m very pleased with it.
