One of my ballerina skellies was purchased by a dancer at Kumoricon who (a) immediately recognized it as Odette from Swan Lake (b) commissioned me to do a matching Odile skeleton.
I am strictly a creature of 2 dimensional art skills so I am amazed when someone can look at a ballerina’s pose and immediately clock the source. That’s so cool!
I looked through a lot of reference photos before settling on this particular pose. I chose it for how it centers her hands, I thought it would be graceful even as bones.
