“Star crossed lovers”
A pop art ox and a neoclassical goddess can make it work, right?
Inspired by this photo my friend took of a temporary sculpture exhibition that was positioned outside city hall some years ago. The ox was situated so that he could stare across the plaza at one of the older permanent sculptures and we teasingly wondered if he was pining 😉
I wanted to capture the mood of the lovestruck ox without being too literal or trying to directly recreate another artist’s work. I love how the ox himself came out, but I’m also pleased with how vibrant it looks for a minimal palette.
