Swamp mermaid for week 3 of Mermay!
I got really excited to paint a freshwater mermaid after looking through underwater swamp photography. I love the greens and golds you get and the beautiful shapes that plant stems and tree roots can make underwater. I had so much fun playing around with setting!
This mermaid is loosely inspired by a mudfish although I took some liberties with her design. I love the languid curl of her tail, she just looks so relaxed :3
