The Osaka Kaiyukan is famous for being the only place in the world to keep a whale shark alive in captivity, and yes that was one of my big reasons for going. Seeing the whale sharks were definitely a highlight of the trip for me (HARD NOT TO BE) but there were a ton of other unusual fish and sea creatures that were a total delight to watch. I didn’t have a chance to live sketch at the time so it was fun digging through my camera roll after the fact and picking out some of my favorites.
I wasn’t very good about photographing signage in the dark so forgive how incredibly vague some of these descriptions are. “Penguin”, INDEED.
