“Oarfish”
It was important to the client to not cheat the oarfish pose too far from real life, and because oar fish swim like straight lines this was a challenge for me!
Once we landed on the diagonal pose, though, everything started to click and I had a lot of fun adding a sense of movement to the background around him. This is a step outside my norm and I think it’s one I should continue a little further this year 🙂
(Also I should paint some tiny oarfish, why haven’t I done this yet!)
