It’s the fourth and final week of the Bird Art project I’m doing with @therewerenoturtles!
I associate red winged blackbirds with the rolling golden hills of California summer. I close my eyes and I can see them perched on the fences at the side of the road, fields of crunchy yellow grasses behind them.
They’re a sweet and nostalgic bird to me now, which totally impacted how I chose to paint it.
This is 100% funnier to me after seeing my friend’s interpretation of a very territorial screamy bird staring down at them from above. BIRDS, they are multifaceted creatures.
