My piece for the “Celestial Beings” anthology! The theme was cosmic/celestial beings with a sapphic twist so I decided to play with the idea of a shooting star as a pair of girlfriends dancing across the sky so fast and bright they leave a trail of light behind them.
The dance they’re doing was inspired by clips from old Hollywood musicals (there’s some Fred Astaire in there among others) and the glittery neon colors are a straight up ode to my 90s anime roots 🙂
