August Bird Whisperer: African Grey Hornbill
I love how hornbills have such grumpy little old man faces, they’re delightful 🙂
The photo reference was packed with leaf canopy behind and around the bird so this painting was an exercise in simplifying the composition without losing too much. I like the solution I landed on but this is something I want to continue thinking about and pushing in my bird paintings.
